EU doctors for UK
Entry to the European Union of a number of new member states since 2005 has resulted in many professional qualifications awarded in Eastern Europe being recognised across the EU, including the UK.
This has created many opportunities for professionals such as doctors, nurses and dentists. As per Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications doctors qualifications are recognized in the UK either with automatic recognition or via the Acquired Rights route.

EU Doctors – how to start a medical job in UK:
Doctors looking to work in the UK should be registered by the General Medical Council (GMC). The GMC will look into the background and training of all applicants and, on the whole, this registration can be achieved without significant difficulty.
Once a EU/non EU doctor is registered with GMC with a License to Practice, they will have the right to work in the UK. It is however worth noting that in practice, doctors who have no previous UK experience (and therefore no references from UK employers) can have some difficulties obtaining a post at the same level they worked at in their home country.
